A stack is the path a real interaction follows.

A visitor reads an application page, asks a question, becomes a customer and later needs support. The marketing stack is the set of systems that carries that interaction: publishing, measurement, forms, customer records, email and operational handoff.

Calling the stack “open source” should describe its components accurately. It should not imply that every hosting service, payment network or delivery provider is open software. Most useful stacks combine owned records with rented operations.

Our own work separates capture from delivery.

EKG’s documented approach uses WordPress for publishing, focused plugins for site behavior and a separate mail-delivery service. Matomo is documented in our analytics work. These choices demonstrate a division of responsibility; they are not a requirement to buy the same products.

An installed form, an installed CRM and a configured sender are three separate facts. They do not prove that a visitor’s inquiry reaches the right person. A useful test follows one permitted test inquiry through the complete path.

Keep the business context when data moves.

A list of email addresses without consent, source or conversation history is a weak export. A product CSV without the questions a page answers can lose years of editorial work. Decide what makes a record useful before selecting its storage tool.

For a manufacturer, carry application and project context into the inquiry. For a nonprofit, carry the requested service and the person’s preferred contact method. Collect only what the next responsible person needs.

Draw the current path on one page.

Pick a common inquiry. Write each system it touches, the record it creates and the person responsible. Mark where someone copies data by hand and where failures could stay invisible.

Improve the weakest important transition first. You may need a clearer notification, a better field or a documented handoff—not another platform. Use the tool profiles after the job is defined.

Open software gives options for operating and adapting parts of the system. It does not decide what a good customer experience should be. That remains your work.
